So I’ve been waiting to share some news. But I’ll let Naomi share it:
Yes! Naomi is going to be a BIG SISTER!
That’s a large portion of why you haven’t seen many posts from me this last month. I had planned my original blogging “vacation” to be for the month of January only, but then this wonderful surprise came along. And my brain has been on overload!
To add to that another little update on why I took a break in the first place … and why it has continued. In a simple word
Obedience
Radical obedience. In December, Chris and I both felt very strongly that God was leading him to leave his job. So after much prayer, he put in his two-week notice. He’s continued searching for a job closer to home (he had long commute before!), but every promising door so far God has seemed to close. (I’ll write more on this I’m sure, as we are learning a lot in this season.)

In the meantime he has continued to do AMAZING in his Master’s studies for Ministry (I think I mentioned this in the fall, but I’m brain dead at the moment, so if not this was another HUGE step for us!) … in fact he has a 99% GPA. He’s also picked up 90% of the slack here in the house and helped me take care of Naomi (and she’s in that handful can’t take your eyes off her for a second stage!).
It’s been amazing the peace we have had in this situation and time of unemployment. The Lord began preparing my heart to go back to work on a part-time basis last fall, and while there are days I’ve found it more challenging to accept, I have a peace about it. I started substitute teaching again last month, and I’m okay with that for this season.
Thankfully the Lord also lead me to another business adventure that I LOVE! Selling Lilla Rose products! They are so much fun and been such a blessing to our family already!
