“Trust in the Lord and do good.
Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord.
Trust him, and he will help you.
He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn,
and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.” Psalm 37:3-6
What is your heart’s desires?
Is it an object? Maybe a person? Maybe something a little more abstract? Maybe all of the above?
At this time in my life I’m not really certain what my heart’s desire truly is. I know for years it was to have a child – and I’m so grateful and thankful that God has given me my heart’s desire in that. However, I know there’s more to my heart’s desire than just this one thing – and I’m grateful now in my life that I can look back and see where God has taught me to trust Him.
He’s also teaching me to take delight in Him.
Sometimes this is easy to do. Sometimes it takes a bit more work to remind myself to look to Him, and not my circumstances. Praise God for verse 5: “Trust him, and he will help you.”
It’s interesting how God works in our lives. Sometimes in ways unexpected to point us back to His eternal Truth. Today God used Lilla Rose for me. I started to type this post to share with you the great news that Lilla Rose is having a Valentine’s Day sale for the next 48 hours (2/7 – 2/8/14).
